Systems Verification & Certification Engineer
Based in Bristol
Up to £57,000 + bonus + 14% pension + Overtime
Formal verification. Compliance evidence. System-level accountability.
This is not a broad lifecycle Systems role.
This is for engineers who specialise in structured verification, certification and compliance within complex defence systems.
You will join the Systems Design & Verification team, delivering system-level certification and verification across multiple domestic and export programmes.
You will own and manage formal compliance evidence, working at system level, not subsystem detail.
What you will actually be doing:

Reviewing subsystem evidence to enable system-level compliance

Generating non-compliances and managing certification registers

Producing Compliance Matrices and Certificates of Design

Managing Verification & Validation tasking to schedule, cost and quality

Supporting trials documentation including Trials Requirement Documents and Clearance Certificates

Closing formal reviews to enable trials and evidence sign-off
This role suits engineers who are comfortable operating in controlled, document-driven, audit-ready environments.
You must have:

Proven experience in formal Systems Verification & Certification

Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle

Hands-on experience using DOORS

Experience generating structured compliance evidence

Ability to operate across multiple concurrent programmes
Experience within maritime, weapon systems or defence environments will be highly beneficial.
You will need to be a British Citizen or a dual national with British citizenship for security clearance.
