Salary:                   Up to £53,000 + benefits (Bonus, Overtime, Pension & more)

Hours:                   37 hours per week         

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer, who will play a key role in developing advanced actuation technologies for next-generation defence systems, with a world class technical engineering company based in Hertfordshire or Lancashire.

The opportunity:

As an experienced Systems Engineer, you will join an Actuation Systems department that is a centre of excellence. The department specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical actuation systems. As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplined team developing actuation systems across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to qualification. You will collaborate with the engineers at system level to ensure the actuation system meets the needs of the product.

You will work with various engineering disciplines to understand the functional architecture and relevant requirements for the electronics, mechanical and software domains. Depending on your experience, there are opportunities to take on this role as a support Systems Engineer or a lead Systems Engineer.

Skills and qualifications required from the following:

  • Ideally degree qualified in a relevant field with proven post-graduation experience.
  • Systems Engineer experience in modern Systems Engineering methods and tools.
  • Experience in specifying, reviewing and managing requirements.
  • Eagerness to enhance your skills in emerging Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering concepts.
  • Strong team spirit to collaborate within a dynamic, multi-disciplined team.
  • Experience in IBM DOORS and Model Based Systems Engineering is beneficial.
  • Experience in safety-related systems or actuation systems is beneficial.
  • Systems Lead experience is beneficial.
  • Experience across different phases of the Systems Engineering lifecycle is beneficial.

Due to security requirement classification, this role is open to British Citizens, or dual nationals with British citizenship only. You should be able and willing to gain UK security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
