Supplier Development Manager
Based in Stevenage with hybrid working (2 days per week on-site)
Up to £50,000 + Bonus + 14% Pension + Overtime
Supply chains don’t fail because of bad intent. They fail because no one owns performance.
This is a role for someone who does.
With deliveries ramping up, this means more pressure, more complexity, more risk. We need a Supplier Development Manager who can walk into a machining environment, assess real capacity, expose bottlenecks and lift delivery and quality performance, not just report on it.
This isn’t a desk-based KPI tracker. It’s hands-on supply chain leadership.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Owning supplier performance across delivery, quality and risk
-
Conducting capacity audits, identifying constraints and mapping sub-tier exposure
-
Using lean and DMAIC methodologies to drive measurable improvement
-
Managing supply chain risk to closure, not just escalation
-
Assessing current vs future state capability against ramp-up plans
-
Presenting clear executive-level summaries that influence decisions
What matters:
You’ve operated in aerospace, defence or high-precision manufacturing. You understand machining environments. You can talk yield, bottlenecks and lead times with credibility.
You don’t just “monitor suppliers”. You improve them.
In return:
-
Up to £50,000 salary
-
Bonus up to £2,500
-
14% pension contribution
-
Hybrid working, 2 days on-site
-
Flexi leave, enhanced parental leave, strong long-term career path
Security clearance eligibility required, British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship.
If you’re commercially aware, operationally sharp and comfortable challenging suppliers to be better, this is a serious platform
