Senior EMC Project Engineer
Based in Bristol
Salary up to £55,000 | Bonus | 14% Pension | Hybrid Working | Overtime
If you’re an electronics engineer who has naturally become the “EMC person” in the team, this could be the role that formalises that expertise.
This position sits within a specialist Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radiation Effects function supporting complex UK defence programmes. Rather than only testing at the end of a project, you’ll be involved from early design stages, influencing architectures, guiding analogue and digital design decisions, and helping engineering teams get it right first time.
You’ll work across the full lifecycle, collaborating with systems, hardware and project teams, advising on compliance to recognised military and aerospace standards, and contributing to the development of bespoke test capability within a state-of-the-art EMC facility.
It’s a role that blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership and influence.
We’re keen to speak with engineers who have:
-
Strong analogue and digital electronic design experience
-
Exposure to EMC principles, whether design-led or test-focused
-
Experience using SPICE tools such as LTspice or ORCAD
-
The confidence to guide design decisions and take ownership of technical work packages
Experience working to defence or aerospace EMC standards would be advantageous, but it’s not essential if your core electronics fundamentals are strong.
In return, you’ll join an organisation known for investing in engineering capability, offering:
-
Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience
-
Bonus scheme
-
Up to 14% pension contribution
-
Paid overtime
-
Flexi leave and hybrid working
-
Long-term programme stability
Due to the nature of the work, you will need to be a British citizen or be a dual citizen with British citizenship to obtain security clearance.
If you’d like to explore a role where your electronics knowledge genuinely shapes outcomes, rather than just validates them, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
