Test Engineer, Hardware in the Loop

If you like the idea of testing hardware inside a live, real-time simulation, not a spreadsheet model, this is worth five minutes of your time.
You'd join a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test team, running dynamic missile-firing simulations using real missile hardware, flight motion tables, and RF and IR target generation systems. It's one of the few facilities of its kind in the UK. The simulations run in real time, the hardware is real, and the results feed directly into product development, performance validation, and firing trials.
What you'd actually be doing:

Understanding how missile sub-systems behave under dynamic HIL testing

Working out how those sub-systems interact with bespoke test equipment

Developing and refining real-time software simulations from performance models

Running hands-on testing with real missile hardware and software

Analysing telemetry data and turning it into technical reports that inform design decisions

Working directly with subject matter experts across missile product teams
What you'll need (essential):

Solid grounding in systems integration and interface debugging

A structured, methodical approach to problem-solving

Experience with real-time software or simulation design
What'll make you stand out (desirable, not essential):

Experience testing sensors or sub-systems

Exposure to Radio Frequency or Infrared seeker systems

Experience with system performance analysis
