Salary:                   £40,000 to £50,000 + Overtime, Bonus, Pension & Flexible working

We’re working with an award-winning, world-leading, technical & scientific engineering organisation, with sites across Europe, that have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Validation Engineer who will be responsible for validating the external supply chain to ensure the successful delivery of parts required to support development programmes in preparation for full-rate production.

Supply Chain Validation Engineer role:
  • Handling a portfolio of suppliers on a day-to-day basis and the project Industrial Validation Plan
  • Assess & validate the supply chain and suppliers’ capability to meet business requirements
  • Undertake Industrial Validation activities such as Process FMEAs, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews in preparation for series production.
  • Identify potential manufacturing & supply chain risks and put in place associated improvement and mitigation plans
  • Handle & validate elements of manufacturing capability transfer from in-house to supplier.
  • Collaborating and supporting a multi-functional team.
 
Supply Chain Validation Engineer skills and qualifications required:
  • A Manufacturing engineering-biased professional with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques, with an appreciation for project delivery/project management.
  • Experience of manufacturing or supplier quality in the Aerospace or Defence environments is desirable.
  • Capable of supporting suppliers/customers to ensure that they develop robust manufacturing systems and control plans, to enable the capability to deliver on-quality, on-time and on-cost in series production.
  • Ideally, the applicant will have New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or manufacturing capability transfer experience.
  • Proficient in Industrial Validation tools such as Process FMEAs, Measurement System Analysis, Process Mapping, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans within the Supply Chain for manufacturing system deviations.
  • Excellent communication skills, requiring close working with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organisations.
