Context
A Stevenage based technical and scientific engineering organisation have an opportunity for a Software Engineer designing and developing test equipment software.
It’s an amazing business. They have a customer order book stretching for several years, with healthy profits and balance sheet. They are stable with steady controlled growth.
The position
The Software Engineer Test benches & equipment, will join a multi-disciplined agile team of about 50 engineers specialising in all aspects of Test Solution design, including hardware, software and embedded real-time systems.

Design and develop test benches and test equipment software to test complex systems

With a range of teams & partners to deliver test software from concept to production;

A software engineering office / lab environment with test equipment & electronic circuitry.
What are we looking for?

Previous software engineering experience of test solutions,
-
Software in C / C++; experience:
-
C# and scripting languages advantageous
-
Understanding of automation, continuous integration & DevOps
-
Agile experience
-
Electronics measurement and debug techniques using eg oscilloscopes & spectrum analysers

Communications and serial interfaces such as RS422, RS485, Modbus, CAN and 1553

Test Driven Development & practices like pair programming & lightweight design modelling
