Shape complex engineering programmes from the systems level
Are you a Systems Engineer looking for a role where you can work across requirements, architecture, MBSE, verification and technical studies?
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team at Ampthill, working closely with Programme Chief Engineers across a range of technically challenging programmes.
Your role will vary depending on the programme you support, giving you the opportunity to work across the engineering lifecycle rather than being tied to a single discipline.
What you will be doing
- Develop and manage complex system requirements
- Plan and support system verification activities
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across programme lifecycles
- Lead and contribute to technical trade studies
- Support system architecture and subsystem definition
- Define interfaces, technical KPIs and system-level solutions
- Lead and coordinate engineering work packages
- Contribute to research and development projects
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams and customers
What are we looking for?
You will have a strong Systems Engineering background, supported by a relevant degree such as Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
You should have experience of:
- Requirements development and derivation
- Systems engineering throughout the development lifecycle
- MBSE and systems architecture
- Trade studies and technical analysis
- Working across multiple projects or work packages
- Communicating effectively with senior technical stakeholders
- Experience with SysML/UML, Cameo, Rhapsody, UAF/NAF, DOORS-NG, MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools would be advantageous.
- Experience working with software teams, research and development, modelling and simulation, AI/ML or complex engineering analysis would also be welcomed.

Due to the nature of the work, this role is primarily site-based in Ampthill and candidates must be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance, with SC to start, whilst going through the DV process.
