An exciting opportunity has arisen for an RF Technologist to join a specialist Radio Frequency (RF) Technologies team working on cutting-edge RF Directed Energy programmes. This role offers the chance to contribute to the development of advanced RF technologies, supporting innovative projects from concept through to delivery.

Due to the highly technical and experimental nature of the work, this position is ideally suited to scientists or engineers who enjoy combining theoretical analysis with practical, hands-on engineering.

The Opportunity

As part of a multidisciplinary RF Technology team, you will be involved in a wide range of activities including theoretical studies, system design, modelling, laboratory investigations and practical experimentation. You will play a key role in developing next-generation RF Directed Energy technologies and systems.

Projects typically range from six months to four years in duration, providing excellent variety and exposure to different technical challenges throughout the development lifecycle, from initial concept and bid activity through to customer delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree-qualified or experienced engineer/scientist with a strong background in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Ability to work flexibly within evolving project environments and changing programme priorities.
  • Experience planning, conducting and reporting practical laboratory investigations.
  • Competent in the use of engineering simulation and analysis tools such as CST, COMSOL or MATLAB.
  • Experience with high-voltage pulsed power systems would be advantageous.
  • A collaborative approach and desire to work within a delivery-focused, multidisciplinary team.
  • Practical engineering skills and hands-on laboratory experience are highly desirable.
