Working within a world-leading, technical engineering organisation, we currently have an excellent opportunity for a Principal Manufacturing Product Assurance Engineer to join the Product Assurance team as they provide professional quality support to the Manufacturing team in the UK.
 
Principal Product Assurance Engineer role:
The team provides independent visibility and therefore quality assurance that manufacturing and related processes are applied across all UK projects. They provide support and advice on all aspects of quality including the identification and implementation of sustainable process improvements to existing methods and processes. This role will support UK Manufacturing to identify and reduce project risk or issues associated with process application, process effectiveness or compliance.
 
You will apply quality expertise to critical business issues to support business excellence, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
 
You will assist Manufacturing UK to ensure manufacturing excellence including the development and delivery of quality awareness and other process and quality-related training. This ensures all programmes achieve cost, time and quality targets.
 
The business owns a programme of independent assessments and audits, that ensures that processes and quality requirements are being successfully implemented, applied and improved. You will deliver reports to management that identify the outcome of audits and issues, monitoring and facilitating the progression of any improvements from audit activities and the timely closure of identified issues.
 
The product assurance team provide advice and help in the use of SAP as the non-conformance management tool and identifies SAP improvements with respect to the Quality Module. Part of the role will involve the management of SAP non-conformances and analysis of defect data and acting on this data to undertake problem-solving investigations identifying defect root cause and corrective action implementation.
 
Principal Product Assurance Engineer skills and qualifications required:
  • Ideally qualified to minimum HNC/HND or equivalent experience
  • Quality professional, experienced in process-based integrated management systems and business improvement in an engineering/manufacturing environment is ideal
  • Experience using both risk management and practical problem-solving tools e.g. 8D, 5Y, PFMEA etc. is ideal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to adapt to people at all levels within all areas of the business
  • Good planning and organising skills to ensure multiple tasks are prioritised and monitored to deliver set objectives
  • Capability to identify sustainable business improvements and ensure effective implementation
  • Recognise and understand internal and external customer and regulatory and certification requirements, and respond to them professionally
