Principal Mechanical Design Engineers - Test Equipment
Are you a seasoned Test Systems Design Engineer with a passion for mechanical design and a desire to make a real impact in defence technology? Our client, a leading systems provider based in Stevenage, is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative test equipment team on a permanent basis.
This pivotal role involves supporting all stages of the product lifecycle, mainly designing and developing bespoke test equipment solutions for next-generation weapon systems. You will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment that values expertise, collaboration, and continuous development.
In this position, your experience in test equipment design, combined with a strong mechanical background, will be essential. You should be familiar with 3D CAD/CAE tools, GD&T principles, and possess an understanding of manufacturing processes, thermal management, and environmental testing. Leadership capabilities in managing design work packages and engaging with multidisciplinary teams are highly advantageous.
We’re looking for candidates with a relevant qualification (Degree/HND/HNC) and significant experience in mechanical design and development, especially within high-security, defence-related projects. Excellent communication skills and an adaptable, proactive attitude are key qualities for success in this role.
