What you will be doing
- Designing innovative mechanical solutions from concept through to production
- Creating detailed models using CREO Parametric
- Producing calculations and analysis to support your designs
- Collaborating with SMEs, users, and engineering teams to shape concepts
- Developing sub system solutions alongside multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting prototype build, testing, and design proving
- Presenting design reviews to senior stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements
What you will bring
- Proven experience designing mechanical components and sub systems
- Experience working in defence, aerospace, or space is highly valued
- Strong CAD capability, ideally CREO, plus Windchill experience
- Understanding of materials, treatments, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to perform structural and kinematic calculations
- A track record of delivering designs that work in demanding environments
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work as part of a team
The reality
- Based on site in Ampthill, 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday
- 37.5 hours, with flexible working built in
