Lead Thermal Engineer
Based in Bristol
Circa £55,000 + Bonus + Overtime + Hybrid working (2-3 days onsite per week)
Great engineering isn’t just about designing systems. It’s about understanding how they behave when pushed to the limits.
This role sits at the heart of that challenge.
We are looking for a Thermal Engineer who enjoys solving complex heat transfer problems across advanced mechanical and electronic systems. Someone who can combine fundamental engineering principles with modern simulation tools to help shape the performance of cutting-edge technology.
You will work across a range of technically challenging projects, using tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB and Python to model, analyse and validate thermal performance. You will also play a key role influencing design decisions and, depending on experience, leading small teams of engineers on critical programmes.
This is an opportunity to join a highly capable engineering team working on technology that genuinely matters, where your expertise will directly contribute to the development of advanced defence systems.

Strong grounding in heat transfer and thermal analysis
-
Experience using CAE tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB or Python
-
Background analysing thermal performance of mechanical or electronic systems
-
Ability to solve complex engineering problems and communicate solutions clearly
-
Experience working within regulated engineering environments
What you’ll get
