We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced  Laser Systems Lead Architect tto join an ambitious, highly regarded, scientific engineering / manufacturing business that are in a position of sustained growth.

As the Laser Systems Lead Architect for our DragonFire program, you will play a crucial role in developing a world-class Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) air defence system. This opportunity is unlike any other, as it offers the chance to be part of a boundary-pushing weapon system development program that has garnered significant industry and customer engagement.

We are looking for flexible and motivated candidates to continue to develop DragonFire into a world class, deployable, LDEW air defence system. Our ambitious plans involve parallel and interleaved streams of pioneering technology experimentation and rapid weapon system development, providing opportunities across the key weapon system domains of Systems Engineering: requirements, design, performance analysis and certification.

Skills Required:

  • Principal System Design Engineering experience
  • Proven experience in developing complex systems, preferably in the defence industry
  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to initiate and drive trade studies
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information
  • Understanding of user requirements and the ability to work with design authorities
  • Familiarity with system architecting tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG, and Rhapsody (desirable)
  • Knowledge of lasers or maritime system integration would be highly beneficial

You will need to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role.  This will require you to either be a UK Citizen or a UK Dual Citizen.  Some restrictions may apply.
