Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager
Based in Stevenage
Salary up to £65,000
If you're the person who gets pulled into a programme late in the day to "sort out the support solution", you already know the frustration. You end up patching gaps that should have been designed out years earlier. This role puts you at the table from the start.
You'll lead Integrated Logistics Support and supportability planning for a complex defence system heading to export customers, shaping the through-life support solution while the system design is still being influenced, not retrofitting one after the fact.
What you'll be doing
-
Leading ILS strategy and planning across the full lifecycle, concept through to in-service support
-
Building and owning the Through Life Support Policy
-
Applying ASD S-Series standards in practice, including S1000D, S2000M, S3000L, S4000P and S5000F, plus DefStan 00-600
-
Running Logistics Support Analysis, maintenance task analysis, spares provisioning and support equipment development
-
Acting as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders on all things ILS and supportability
-
Supporting bids and proposals, including ILS costing and risk
-
Managing and mentoring ILS practitioners within your programme team
What you'll need
-
Solid track record in ILS, Supportability or Through Life Support within defence or aerospace
-
Broad engineering background, ideally degree level or equivalent, with exposure to weapon systems or complex platform support
-
Working knowledge of ASD S-Series ILS standards and how they apply in practice
-
Ability to lead a team, carry out strategic planning of work, and ensuring commitments are always met
-
Comfortable influencing multidisciplinary, international teams
-
Experience supporting bid and proposal work is a strong plus
If most of that reads like your day job already, this is worth a proper look.
