We’re supporting a major defence engineering organisation as they continue to expand their Functional Development team, driven by new programme awards and growing export opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the development, certification and delivery of advanced defence systems supporting UK and international customers.

The Role

Working within the Functional Development team and supporting the Chief Systems Engineer, you’ll contribute across a range of complex engineering activities, including:

  • Requirements capture, derivation and management
  • System, subsystem and software development activities
  • Technical investigations and certification support
  • Programme and stakeholder support for international projects
  • Systems studies, trade studies and architecture development
  • Engineering change management and product development

This is a varied role offering exposure across multiple engineering disciplines and international programmes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Systems Engineering experience, ideally within defence or complex engineering environments
  • Experience with requirements management and derivation
  • Knowledge of engineering tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG or Rhapsody
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing complex systems and architectures
  • Ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Product line experience would be advantageous
