Environmental Engineering Lead
Based in Stevenage
Salary Up to £57,000 + Bonus + Overtime + Pension
Most engineers talk about working on something that matters.
You'd be working on defence systems that defend nations.
This is a Domain Lead position sitting at the heart of a major defence programme, owning the full environmental engineering picture across a family of complex systems. Mechanical and climatic environments. Requirements through to qualification. Proving strategies, risk, schedules, budget, and a team of engineers looking to you for technical direction.
You won't be buried in a workstream. You'll be the focal point.
That means working directly with Systems, Verification, Mechanical Analysis, Architecture, and Quality, as well as engaging at Project Head and Chief Engineer level when the hard problems land. Your fingerprints will be on the design, the proving approach, and the decisions that matter.
What they're looking for is someone with solid environmental engineering experience in defence or a closely related sector, a working knowledge of DEF STAN 00-035 or Mil Std 810, and the credibility to lead without needing a title to do it. DOORS experience and a background in test processes and instrumentation will serve you well here.
The package is competitive: up to £57k, company bonus, 14% pension contribution, up to 15 days flexi leave, and hybrid working at three days on-site.
SC clearance is required, so British citizenship is essential.
If you're the kind of engineer who wants to own a domain rather than just work in one, let's talk.
