Embedded Software Engineer, Air Defence Systems
Based in Bristol
Salary up to £60,000
Most software engineers will never see their work matter in the way yours could here.
This team builds Command and Control software for some of the most advanced air defence systems in the world. Maritime. Real-time. Safety-critical. The kind of work where getting it right genuinely counts.
You'll be working hands-on across the full development lifecycle, contributing to C2 architecture design, embedded development, and the engineering of future products. The tech stack centres on Ada, though if your background is C++ or Rust, that's very much welcomed. Capable engineers pick up Ada quickly, and the team will support you through it.
The role is largely on-site in Bristol, which reflects the classification of the work rather than a lack of trust. If you know this sector, you understand.
The package is strong: salary to £60k, bonus up to £2,500, combined pension contributions to 14%, paid overtime, and up to 15 days additional flexi leave on top of your standard allowance.
Security clearance will be required. British nationality is essential.
If you've been developing in safety-critical or regulated environments, and you want your next role to mean something beyond the sprint board, this is worth a conversation.
