Location:    Bolton
 
Salary:         Circa £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

Working within a world-leading, technical engineering organisation, we currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical/Electronic Equipment Manager. The Electrical/Electronic Equipment Manager role:
Due to ambitious growth, we are seeking experienced people to join our hugely dedicated Electrical Architecture team.
 
This role is to manage multiple power systems equipment, along with all that relates to them including being the equipment requirement authority (ERA), in support of the project with the possibility to lead a small team where required.
 
  • Provide advice and technical knowledge on power supplies and power systems architecture to the project and its suppliers
  • Project manage delivery of the complete power system for a project including several power supply units (AC/DC, DC/DC) and thermal batteries during development, qualification and manufacture on behalf of the project
  • Manage relationships with multiple internal & external design authorities/stakeholders for delivery of the power systems hardware, software and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality and performance
  • Manage relationships with key design authorities/suppliers of interfacing hardware equipment to the power system
  • Produce Statements of Work
  • Review qualification verification evidence for power systems equipment
  • Track and resolve non-compliances
  • Arrange design reviews with appropriate stakeholders
  • Control of assigned budgets and work package management
  • Manage risks and opportunities
  • Lead less experienced engineers on the project
  • Support and train less experienced engineers within the function
  • Support production of guidelines for best practice for power systems (including architecture, load analysis, power modelling, testing, etc.)
 
As part of the encouraging and collaborative team, you will receive a range of support and career development with a hugely dedicated group of people around you. UK or international travel may be required to suppliers, customers, and other sites in Europe.
 
Electrical/Electronic Equipment Manager experience required:
  • Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent qualification with experience in electrical/electronic engineering or a related subject, however, experience and knowledge on power systems is key for this role.
  • Knowledge of Mil-Std-704 would be useful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of incorporating permanent magnet generators into a power architecture is desirable but not essential.
