Configuration Analyst | Bedfordshire | 4-day week
Ever noticed how the people who quietly keep a complex engineering programme from falling into chaos rarely get the credit they deserve?
That's Configuration Management. And if you're doing it well right now, somewhere, on some frustratingly under-resourced project, this might be worth five minutes of your time.
This role sits at the point where traditional CM meets where the discipline is actually heading, digital twins, model-based systems engineering, digital thread. You'll be working change control and configuration baselines day to day, but with a clear runway into digital engineering as the business's strategy matures. Not a "might happen one day" promise, an active part of the plan.
A few things worth knowing:
Four-day working week. Genuinely. Friday's yours.
Deep, complex engineering programmes, not paperwork for paperwork's sake.
A structured path into senior CM and digital engineering roles.
Due to the nature of the projects, DV clearance will be required, so this will suit someone already established in defence or a closely adjacent regulated sector. You will need to hold sole British citizenship.
If you've got Configuration Management experience in an engineering environment and you're curious what "digital engineering" actually looks like in practice rather than in a LinkedIn post, it's worth a conversation. No pressure, no hard sell, just a chat about where this could go.
