Lead a specialist engineering capability
A great opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of a growing specialist team and shape the future of an important technical capability.
You will lead a team of around 12 engineers responsible for complex performance assessment, using advanced modelling, simulation and high-performance computing to understand system behaviour across a wide range of conditions.
Demand for the team's expertise is growing, so this is a chance to build, develop and expand a capability that is becoming increasingly important to the wider engineering organisation.
What you will be doing
- Lead, develop and grow a team of specialist engineers
- Define and deliver the future vision for the capability
- Manage recruitment, staff development, capacity planning and objectives
- Provide pragmatic technical leadership across projects, bids and emerging areas
- Apply your understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle
- Build strong relationships with project teams, customers and other engineering functions
- Develop knowledge-sharing and best practice across the team
What we are looking for
You will be an experienced engineering leader who can combine people leadership, technical credibility and strategic thinking.
You should have:
- Experience leading technical or specialist engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering
- The ability to develop people and build high-performing teams
- Experience with recruitment, capacity planning or capability development
- The confidence to provide technical direction on complex or emerging topics
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
