Software Test Lead
Location: Bedford
Salary: Up to £50,000 + excellent benefits
We are currently recruiting for a Software Test Lead who will have previous experience working on programmes through the full Software Engineering Lifecycle, with focus on the testing and integration aspects of software development.
The company design, develop and manufacture complex electro/mechanical products and systems used in the defence sector, that have a high content of software embedded in them. This role would suit someone with a strong background in software test engineering who is looking for a step up to a more senior position or someone with current leadership experience.
Software Test Lead key responsibilities

Take responsibility for early life-cycle validation and verification.

Plans arrange and control meetings, workshops and relations with client/user staff during test planning and throughout subsequent development and testing activities

Creation and Maintenance of Test Plans.

Creation of Tests, Test Scripts and Execution of tests.

Undertake Test Reviews.

Generation of Software Release documentation.

Facilitation of Test Environment design and development

Risk Management during the test process

Creation of Testing Estimates

Budget Management
-
Generation of the Test Schedule

Documenting test findings

Reporting to the Test Manager and Project stakeholders.
Software Test Lead skills and experience

Demonstrable skills in Testing and Test Leadership

Use of Issue Tracking Tools (i.e. JIRA)

Use of Configuration Control Tools (i.e. SVN)

Provide Authoritative Guidance and coaching to team members

Good Communication and Presentation skills

Test Improvement identification and implementation

Highly motivated, dynamic, multitasking individual, used to working to strict deadlines in a team environment, balancing the needs of the project whilst maintaining a high level of engineering integrity.

Knowledge of Safety Standards (i.e. IEX-61508/DO-178B) and holding ISTQB Certification is highly desirable
