The Position - Software Project Lead
 
A Software Project Lead who can build high-performing teams and create strong working relations with the multi-disciplined project environments. These project environments include system design, mechanical design, electronic design, program, safety, quality.
 
Context
The Real Time Actuator Software Team is tasked with supplying software into a wide range of Missile components that require motor/movement control; Fins, Seeker, Fuel Pump, Booster, Wing Opening System.
  • You are passionate and can win hearts and minds.
  • You coordinate resources through planning, coordinating, and controlling software delivery.
  • You’ve experience of or interest in AGILE/SCRUM/Six Sigma/DevOps.
  • You have the acumen for process alignment and quality for developing safety-critical software.
  • You may have a background in bare metal embedded.
Required
  • Experience of nurturing and leading a team of 5-10 developers, software and V&V.
  • Experience or an understanding agile/SCRUM/DevOps environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of agile burnup charts, team velocity, cycle times or work-load-forecast.
  • Experience or knowledge of continuous build, integration and delivery pipeline.
  • Technical/software background with experience working in a technology environment.
  • History of improving teams through coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience of safety-critical standards (DO-178C) good, not crucial.
