Salary:                   Up to £55,000 + Bonus, Pension & Flexible working
 
Working within a world leading, innovative technical engineering organisation, we are currently recruiting for a Procurement Project Manager within the Procurement and Supply Chain team. As a Sector Lead, you will assume responsibility for project managing on multiple projects including, management of the Product Life Cycle phase gate reviews, identifying clear objectives, inputs, outputs, and success criteria.

Procurement Project Manager Responsibilities
  • Be the primary Procurement and Supply Chain partner and integrated member of the project teams
  • Maintain robust communication, planning and alignment to ensure a diligent and smooth hand-over throughout the full life cycle (especially important between development and Production stage gates.)
  • Lead Procurement gate-reviews, manage and deliver Product Lifecycle tasks, manage critical supply issues, influence, and actively participate in Programme & Manufacturing sector reviews.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing and commercial contract relationship activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the business to manage critical requirements, issues, and information in support of Programme and Procurement goals.
  • Accountable for ensuring the creation of a robust procurement supply chain for new product Programmes, in order to achieve cost, quality and delivery targets.
 
Procurement Project Manager skills and qualifications required:
  • Able to support procurement strategies throughout the Product life cycle influencing within new product Introduction and have the ability to clearly communicate & manage risks/opportunities and business case proposals.
  • Proven experience in Project or Programme Management within a matrix organisation with a technical appreciation of complex problems
  • Communication with internal partners, including, Chief Engineers R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain Managers, Financial Accounting and Commercial teams
  • Good appreciation of Procurement key skills (Supplier evaluation, risk assessment, category management, negotiation, risk management etc.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong internal relationships and work collaboratively across various levels in an organisation.
