Location:               Stevenage or Bolton

Salary:                   Up to £48,000 p/a + benefits (Overtime, bonus, Pension & more)

Hours:                   37 hours per week         

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Component Engineer to join a world class technical engineering company based in Stevenage. This role will be critical to developing capabilities to help protect national interests and global security. This could be just what you are looking for?

A growing workload has created an exciting opportunity within the UK Component Engineering Team for an engineer to technically lead in electrical/electromechanical component selection.

Using your expertise, you will undertake a full range of activities, such as providing advice and guidance to the team and customers, ensuring the selection of suitable components based on risk.

As the Principal Electrical Component Engineer, you will maintain your expertise in specialist areas and ensure that this expertise is passed to others, including participating in design reviews, training, and other development activities, as appropriate, enabling the business to maintain its capability.

There is also the opportunity to support and lead international continuous improvement initiatives, helping define best practice and manage the adoption and adherence of agreed methodologies across the teams on an international scale.

Skills and qualifications required from the following:

  • Ideally HNC, HND, Degree or Masters in a technical engineering discipline such as Electrical, Electronics, Electro-mechanical, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical, electro-mechanical and interconnect components.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate regular face to face and electronic communications with all relevant stakeholders.
  • The ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation

You should be able and willing to gain (UK Eyes only) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
