International Sales Manager (Specialist Machinery)
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 P/A
Hours: 37 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for an International Sales Manager to join a world class, historically renowned engineering / manufacturing business based in Peterborough. The company name is synonymous with quality and innovation, with an extensive product range to offer. The opportunity will present the successful applicant with the environment to realise their potential and grow with the business.
As the International Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities and negotiating sales for a specific specialist machinery equipment range to a global wide client base. There will also be a requirement to support the companies’ ongoing growth strategy for the market sector you will be supporting, as well as offering sales leadership to help grow the division.
International Sales Manager duties
To establish and develop sustainable customer relationships at all organisational levels in a professional manner.
To maintain regular direct contact with the customer base.
To ensure awareness of the products and services with both existing and potential customers.
To lead the sales team’s response to customer enquiries and support the preparation of proposals
To negotiate and secure orders and contracts that are profitable, commercially secure, and technically sound.
To identify and develop Customer Services’ business opportunities with existing and new customers.
To identify and report market requirements to the business to support the business and R&D strategies.
To provide market information and competitor activity to support the development of our position in the industry.
To prepare and maintain sales reports, forecasts, and contact information on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
International Sales Manager required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven export sales experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, to all levels of a business.
Excellent networking skills.
Ability to think strategically in regard to customers and markets.
Understanding of contract terms and conditions.
Ability to understand technical matters (products, processes, equipment) to a reasonable level.
A desire and ability to spend approximately 30- 40% of their time abroad.
Fluency in other languages is an advantage.
