Group Procurement Category Manager
 
Location:               Stevenage
 
Salary:                   Up to £62,000 + Bonus, Pension & Flexible working
 
Working within a world leading, innovative technical engineering organisation, we are currently recruiting for a Group Procurement Category Manager, working in an international context, who will bring experience and knowledge to ensure effective category management in the RF or electronic domain. 
 
As the Group Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing category strategies and supplier relationships to deliver innovative and outstanding suppliers to the business
 
The position will involve working and travelling internationally with fellow procurement professionals, with internal stakeholders (internal customers, procurement colleagues, technical expert, legal) and with key suppliers
 
Group Procurement Category Manager Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive market knowledge of the category and manage market risks and opportunities
  • Undertake internal partner requirements from the category, analyse the business needs, forecast consumption, future product requirements,
  • Undertake category segmentation and performance, accessing and addressing gaps with the business requirements.
  • Develop a supplier policy and a full strategic execution plan, gaining key stakeholder sign off, implementing with the correct controls in place
  • Manage the supplier relationship and lead the suppliers business reviews
  • Source new requirements for future projects and lead the prospection, evaluation and approval of new suppliers to achieve the objectives of the strategic execution plan
  • Negotiate and manage execution of Frame Agreements.
  • Coordinate and support the buyers to run the competitions, negotiations in conformance with the supplier policy and to deliver optimum value (total cost of acquisition) for the Business
  • Ensure the capability of the Supply Chain to fulfil forecast demand and manage the plan to improve on Time, on Cost, on Quality performance of the suppliers
  • Manage the supplier risks and the mitigation actions plan to support the technology roadmap and production plan,
  • Support procurement cohesion across the Group
 
Group Procurement Category Manager skills and qualifications required:
  • Ideally a degree calibre procurement professional with experience of working in an international environment in high technologies companies.
  • Experience in the domain of RF or electronics would be an ideal
A proven ability to:
  • Influence multi-functionally, multi-nationally and at all levels within the organisation
  • Implement changes when working with internal partners
  • Develop and implement strategies through a multi-function team
  • Manage the supplier relationship
