Equipment Requirement Authority
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £60,000 – Dependant on experience
Are you a systems or design engineer who is interested in technical project management and looking for a change in career? If you are, and you’re interested in working with a company offering the chance to work on cutting-edge, next-generation defence systems, career growth, and the chance to make a real impact on national security, then this is the role for you.
As an Equipment Requirement Authority, you will work with the wider organisation and industrial partners to secure the delivery of configured hardware and validation evidence whilst ensuring time, cost and quality constraints within an assigned project are met.
Reporting directly to a Design Lead or Chief Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the development of equipment requirements, ensuring suitable flow down into the supply chain, specifying and collecting technical evidence through testing or analysis and ensuring safe and secure integrity is maintained throughout the development cycle and into the hands of customers.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a broad understanding of engineering design processes and applications as well as an appreciation for good requirement specification practices. Knowledge of high-integrity hardware, networking technologies, custom electronics or complex mechanical design is advantageous but not essential. What is key is that you can communicate throughout an engineering team, identify required skills that would support your success and be driven by meeting deadlines critical to the success of the business.
