Salary:                   Up to £48,000 P/A + benefits (Including Bonus, Overtime, Pension)

Hours:                   37 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electro Optic Design Engineer to join an ambitious, highly regarded, scientific engineering / manufacturing business that are in a position of sustained growth.

The Electro-Optical Design Engineer will join a group that is responsible for the specification, assessment, and delivery of a range of electro-optical sub-systems used within complex weapon systems. Each member of the team performs a range of tasks and engages regularly with other areas of the business, external suppliers, and customers.

The successful applicant will join a project team developing cutting edge Electro-Optical Sensors for complex weapons. You will be collaborating with customers and stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of Electro-Optical subsystems.

You will be involved in:

  • You will be responsible for collaborating with our internal experts and project leads to develop and design Electro-Optical sub-systems to meet challenging customer requirements.

Skills Required 

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relatable subject.
  • Experience in designing and developing imaging Electro-Optical systems, using optical design tools such as Zemax or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Electro-Optical radiation, propagation, and detection principles, in particular; infra-red wavebands.
  • Strong logical and analytical skills to address the technical nature of the work

You will need to be eligible and willing to gain (UK Eyes only) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future. UK Dual nationals with 5 years continuous UK residency may be considered.
