Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience

We’re working with an award-winning, world-leading, technical & scientific engineering organisation, with sites across Europe, that have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer in a Software procurement team!
The team lead all aspects of IT and software spend across the Group. This includes Enterprise Software, SaaS and Software Services, Engineering & Manufacturing Software, with the opportunity to specialise in one area, or to develop into new ones to broaden your knowledge. If you have skills in any one of these areas or are looking to move into software procurement, then we would be pleased to discuss how you might best fit within the team!
We are looking for someone who understands software and software procurement, or someone willing to learn and develop these skills, who is comfortable building internal and international relationships.
The Buyer role:
The main purpose of the role is to provide support for Software Category Managers in the UK, France and Italy by handling software procurement in the UK and across the Group. You will work in partnership with internal collaborators to handle procurement and competitions for software and services, champion the right relationships with our partners and suppliers and deliver the right procurement outcomes for the business. More specifically, there are two main roles to cover: one dedicated to the renewals and renegotiations of existing software, being a focal point for the collaborators in the UK; and another role is one where you can run and build competitions and give in a truly international context.
The Software Procurement team consists of eight Category Managers and Buyers within a wider "Group Digital and Mobility Services" team of thirty Group Category Managers, Buyers and Early Careers Professionals. The teams are based in Stevenage, Rome and Paris and service local and Group needs. The wider Indirect Procurement function consists of eighty people.

Buyer skills and experience required:
Someone who understands software and software procurement, or is comfortable with learning and developing these skills, and has excellent soft skills. You are either a Buyer looking for the next stage in their career, or a Buyer looking to move into their first role in Software. You are willing to travel, collaborate with colleagues and partners, and able to work with multifunctional teams in person or remotely in Rome, Paris or the UK.
Ideally, we would like someone willing to or working towards MCIPS qualification
