Systems Integration & Test Engineer
Location:                 Home based with occasional travel to Havant site
Base Salary:           £35,000 to £50,000 (DOE) + excellent benefits & 4 day weeks
Working with a global defence leader, we are currently recruiting for a Systems Integration & Test Engineer, where you will have the chance to be an integral part of building a successfully realistic training system for our Armed Forces, knowing what you do makes them safe and effective in their role.
You will work within the project Engineering Team on the development of the next generation airborne rear crew synthetic training system for the UK armed forces. Reporting to the Integration and Test Manager and under general direction of the I&T Lead, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, working on all aspects of system level integration and test activities throughout the integration and test life cycle.
Whilst the role will mainly be working from home, there will be times when you will need to be onsite for extended periods, possibly 2-3 weeks at a time, during test cycles.

Systems Integration & Test Engineer Activities will include:
  • Translate system requirements into appropriate Test specifications
  • Ensuring that Test activities are carried out in accordance with programme & internal standards
  • Investigation and analysis of complex system level faults
  • Collaborating with test leadership to design and use appropriate progress metrics
  • Manage your time effectively to develop effective Test solutions to deliver to cost and quality targets
  • Any additional Programme related tasks assigned that are within area of expertise, competence and skill set.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients across all levels of the organisation both internally and with the customer

Systems Integration & Test Engineer skills and qualifications
  • Solid understanding of test life cycles and toolsets (e.g. DOORS, Jira and automated test tools e.g. Selenium or similar)
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner to deliver documents such Program Test Plans
  • Positive attitude, and willingness to get involved with tasks across the Test Engineering lifecycle
  • The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required.
  • Knowledge and experience of interacting with Hardware and Software teams
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex concepts
  • Exposure to synthetic training and simulation systems - (Desirable)
  • Exposure to Model Based Testing concepts and tools (SysML, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect) – (Desirable)
